Help! The library doesn't have the book I'm looking for. What should I do?
Don't worry. There is a way that the library can borrow the book from another library. This process is called an "Interlibrary Loan."
What is an Interlibrary Loan (ILL)?
Interlibrary loan (ILL) is a service that enables library patrons to borrow materials from other libraries. If USF Law community members cannot locate the print or digital materials needed for their studies, it may be possible for library staff to acquire them from another university's collection. All you need to do is submit an Interlibrary Loan Request Form.
Submit an ILL request using the library's Online Interlibrary Loan Form, or visit the Zief Law Library Circulation Desk to fill out a paper form. Ask library staff at the Circulation desk for assistance.
What if I don't need the whole book?
That's OK too! You can submit an ILL request for just a page, chapter, or series of chapters.
What are the benefits of using "ILL"?
ILL allows students, faculty, and staff access to a broader range of materials.
ILL supports research and scholarship.
ILL promotes collaboration between libraries.
ILL is cost-effective! It does not require users to purchase materials themselves.
